Project summary: 8km new Optic Fibre build from Forrest hill to Burwood, including three new lead ins into two universities. Civils including pit, pipe, boring and all external/internal hauling.

Fibre optic install to the Bellarine begins

The world-class internet project is underway! Get ready for high-speed connection to community, education and research hubs from East Geelong to Curlewis and Drysdale to Queenscliff. It's a fiber optic install like no other!
Crews are drilling, digging and hauling conduit. Plus renting accommodation on the Bellarine so nothing stands in the way of connectivity success!
It's a year long project that will hook up facilities like the new Drysdale Library, The Potato Shed and Drysdale Sports Precinct. A real connection revolution that makes data sharing with experts around the world a breeze.
Eduroam will be sighing with relief because they too have access now - secure global roaming wireless just for Deakin University staff and students!
Don't forget - this fiber mission paves the way for fast fibre in other coastal areas in the future too! So smart tech is having its day to help understand usage patterns along the Bellarine Rail Trail.
